COVID-19 claims 3 including a septuagenarian in Rupandehi, Bhaktapur and Morang

KATHMANDU: Three additional coronavirus-infected people including a septuagenarian have died in Rupandehi, Bhaktapur and Morang districts.

A 67-year-old man infected with COVID-19 has died in Rupandehi district on Friday morning.

The sexagenarian man passed away in the course of treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital at 7:15 am today, said Dr Bishnu Gautam, the information officer for the hospital.

Originally from Tilottama municipality-2, the elderly had been admitted to Butwal COVID Special Hospital after he tested positive for coronavirus on October 7.

As the patient’s health condition deteriorated, he was being treated on ventilator since October 11.

He passed away this morning after his health condition suddenly became critical, said the hospital.

With this, the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached 46 in Rupandehi.

Similarly, a 65-year-old man has died from coronavirus in Biratnagar of Morang district on Friday morning.

The sexagenarian succumbed to the virus in the course of treatment at Nobel Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar at 3 am today.

Originally from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-3, Buddha Chowk, the elderly’s swab sample test report came out positive during test at the laboratory of Koshi Hospital on Wednesday.

The patient had been admitted to the COVID Hospital of Nobel Teaching Hospital on Thursday evening after he complained of respiratory complications.

He died in the course of treatment in less than 11 hours of his admission to the hospital, said Narayan Dahal, the manager of the hospital.

Similarly, a 74-year-old woman infected with COVID-19 has died in the course of treatment at Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital in Bhaktapur district.

The septuagenarian woman passed away while undergoing treatment at 5 pm Thursday, said Rupesh Shrestha, the administration chief of the Hospital.

The elderly who was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after she complained of respiratory complications tested positive for the virus on the same day, informed Shrestha.

Likewise, a 41-year-old man died of coronavirus infection at Bhaktapur Hospital.

Originally from Dhulikhel municipality-9 and currently staying at Madhyapur Thimi, Nilbarahi, the patient died on Thursday afternoon. He had been admitted to the hospital on October 7.

Nepal Army is making preparations to manage both the bodies of the deceased.

With this, the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached 47 in Bhaktapur district. Of them, 34 are males and 13 are females.
