Eight districts including Kathmandu record over 500 active COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: Eight districts, including Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have reported over 500 active cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Other districts with more than 500 active cases are Chitwan, Makwanpur, Sarlahi, Rupendehi, Sunsari and Siraha.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,539 persons have tested positive for the COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry, with the recent data, the total number of cases reached 58,327 in the country as of Wednesday afternoon.

Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that Nepal currently has 16,242 active cases.

Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 7,701 people are in home isolation and 8,541 in institutional isolation facilities.

Likewise, 7,820 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.
