Shiv Chandra and Milaya Devi ‘taken hostage’ discharged from hospital



KATHMANDU: Shiv Chandra Sada and Milayadevi of Saptari, who were “taken hostage” in a hospital for two months due to lack of money for medical treatment have been discharged.

They were taken “hostage” at the Golden Hospital in Biratnagar as they were unable to pay for their treatment.

The hospital did not allow them to go home as they could not pay the due amount of Rs 1,25,800.

The cost of treatment at the hospital would be borne by the state government and the cost of ambulance to their homes was also managed, Province 2 authorities said.

The government of State 2 has decided to provide Rs 150,000 to them.
