5th repatriation flights to begin Monday



KATHMANDU: The fifth phase of repatriation flights of Nepali migrant workers currently stranded in a foreign land owing to coronavirus is beginning on Monday.

As many as 40 flights are scheduled to be operated during the fifth phase of repatriation which will last till August 31.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), it has allowed Nepal-based international airlines to operate as many as 30 repatriation flights.

Likewise, international flights will conduct 10 flights.

The Nepal Airlines will operate 17 flights to bring the stranded Nepalis home from countries like Qatar, Malaysia, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, among other countries.

Likewise, the Himalaya Airlines will operate some 14 flights to Qatar, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Dubai.

According to CAAN, the repatriation flights will be operated between August 17 and August 31.
