DAMAK: A week-long lockdown has been called in Damak from Sunday night stating that the coronavirus infection is increasing at the community level.

A meeting of the Coronavirus Prevention, Control and Coordination Committee held in the municipality this morning decided to enforce the lockdown until midnight on August 22.

All the means of transport except for ambulances, press and vehicles transporting milk will remain closed during the period.

Banks and financial institutions, sidewalk shops, grocery shops and all other types of shops will be closed, said City Deputy Chief and Spokesperson Geeta Adhikari.

Coronavirus infection was confirmed in seven people in Damak yesterday that took the city’s tally to 20.
