Computer operator arrested for hacking Nepal Telecom’s server



KATHMANDU: A team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested a man for hacking the server of Nepal Telecom.

A team deployed from the Bureau arrested 28-year-old Diwakar Deuja of Pakhribash Municipality-5 in Dhankuta for hacking the telecommunication’s server.

Deuja was sent to Nepal Police Cyber Bureau on Thursday to take the necessary action as per the Electronic Transactions Act 2063 BS.

According to the CIB, Deuja illegally gained access to the server system of Nepal Telecom’s mobile app and sold date packages.

Deuja was working as a computer operator at the Urban Development and Building Office, Dhankuta, according to a statement issued by the Bureau.

Police confiscated two laptops and two mobiles from his possession.
