Sankhuwasabha primary health center sealed after COVID-19 suspect dies



SANKHUWASABHA: Chainpur primary health post has been sealed after a patient died in the course of treatment.

The health post was sealed after 35-year-old man who was staying in his maternal uncle’s house in Chainpur was suspected to have been infected with the COVID-19.

Issuing a press statement, Dr Binod Bekuju, chief at the health post, said the health center has been sealed until the report of the PCR test result of the deceased comes out.

The patient was suffering from fever and respiratory complications. His swab has been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Originally from Jhapa, the deceased had been working at a hotel based in Chainpur municipality.

Sankhuwasabha district has reported two coronavirus infection cases so far.
