NC forms committee on COVID-19 impact on investment, infrastructure and employment



KATHMANDU: Main opposition party in the parliament Nepali Congress (NC) has formed a 15-member special committee to study about the coronavirus impact on investment, infrastructure and employment in the country.

To explore the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic in investment, infrastructure and employment and make the party’s stand clear about the measures to be taken to curb the pandemic effect on those sectors, NC formed the committee under the coordination of industrialist and lawmaker Binod Chaudhary.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba formed the committee entrusting it to submit report on the party’s opinion aboutthe investment, infrastructure and employment situation and the measures to be taken.

The committee ‘Special Committee on Investment, Infrastructure and Employment Perspective and Sustainable Project’ will submit a report on the coronavirus pandemic effect on various sectors of economy to the party’s central committee.

Members in the committee include Deepak Khadka, Umesh Shrestha, Indra Baniya, Tek Bahadur Gurung, Karma Ghale, Jeep Chhiring Lama, Chhatra Giri,  Surya Bahadur KC, Mohan Acharya, Teju Lal Chaudhary, Anil Rungata, Bishnu Bahadur Khadka, Purna Bahadur Tamang, and Khageshwor Bohara.

The committee will submit the report with recommendation which will be handled by another economy related special committee.
