House committee directs govt to purchase equipment to combat COVID-19

KATHMANDU: The parliamentary Education and Health Committee has instructed the government to purchase medicines and necessary equipment required for the prevention of novel coronavirus infection and treatment of the patients at the earliest.

The committee members on Wednesday held a video conference and directed the government to purchase personal protective equipment (PPEs), ventilators, masks, and other test kits at the earliest and supply the medical stuff to all districts.

The lawmakers also instructed the government to expand the range of COVID-19 tests.

Likewise, the committee has also asked the government to ensure that all people who are quarantined get basic facilities.
