KATHMANDU: A youth from Dhading, who tested positive for coronavirus in the rapid diagnostic test (RDT), rode to an isolation center by himself on a two-wheeler.
He thought it prudent for him to ride to the Dhandingbesi-based isolation center on his own after his efforts to find an ambulance to take him there.
Riding on a bike for him was more judicious for this youth of Jwalamukhi rural municipality of Dhading district after the rural municipality’s ambulance driver has disappeared with the fear of getting infected with the coronavirus.
With no signs of the driver around, the municipality made available a motorcycle to this youth.
Binod Timilsina, the chairperson of Jwalamukhi rural municipality, said the youth reached the isolation center at around 10 pm on Tuesday.
The municipality office-bearers followed the youth on another motorcycle to ensure that the youth does not flee in the pretext of going to the isolation center, Chairperson Timilsina said.
The youth’s throat swab has been collected and sent to the Hetauda-based laboratory for testing.
