DARCHULA: A seven-year-old girl was killed in lightning in Darchula last night.

Laxmi Khati from Tikhadhar of Shailyashikar municipality-6 died on the spot when lightning struck her house, District Police Office here said.

Police Inspector Surendra Prasad Joshi said five persons have been injured in the incident.

The house has also been destroyed. Two cows have been killed in the lightning.

Likewise, the Area Police Office of Manahari has said a person died in the thunder strike at Dhirang of Raksirang rural municipality-7 on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Chaitra Praja.

Three others were injured in the incident.
