No shortage of petroleum products, including LPG: NOC

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Sunday clarified there would be no shortage of LP gas in the country amid fear of coronavirus outbreak.

NOC said as many as 10,000 cylinders are being supplied in the market on a daily basis.

Saying that people need not worry about the shortage of petroleum products including petrol, diesel, or gas, the Executive Director of the NOC Surendra Kumar Poudel claimed that 86 bullets of gas entered Nepal via Raksaul on Sunday.

According to him, 86 bullets means 100 thousand cylinders. He was speaking at the parliamentary Commerce Committee.

He asserted that among the 86 bullets, while 38 are coming to Kathmandu, the remaining would be distributed to other places.

Poudel also claimed that gas bullets enter Nepal via other entry points such as Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Dhangadi and Kakarvitta while assuring the public that there will not no shortage of gas.
