Flights from COVID-19 affected countries continue

KATHMANDU: There have been unrestricted flights to and from coronavirus-hit countries including China and South Korea.

Some 3,000 travelers have been arriving and while 2,000 are leaving Nepal through 44 flights on a daily basis, media reports said on Sunday.

On Friday, 700 foreigners arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) while 450 international travelers arrived on Saturday.

There have been regular flights to and from China, South Korea, India, Hong Kong, Oman, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Turkey.

The Supreme Court (SC) had earlier issued an interim order to the government to suspend flights to and from the coronavirus-affected countries, including China, South Korea, Japan, among others.

But, the apex court’s order has not been enforced yet.
