KATHMANDU: Chief of General Staff of Britain General Mark Carleton-Smith arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday in course of his weeklong visit to Nepal.

Upon his arrival, Carleton-Smith was welcomed by Nepal Army (NA) Lieutenant General Sharad Giri upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

During his stay, Carleton-Smith will meet NA Chief Purna Chandra Thapa, visit the NA peacekeeping training center in Panchkhal, according to the NA Directorate of Public Relations.

He is scheduled to visit Pokhara.
