Leader Nepal demands immediate withdrawal of ordinance

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Madhav Kumar Nepal has demanded immediate withdrawal of the ordinance to amend the Constitutional Council Act.

On the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, President Bidya Devi Bhandari had on Tuesday issued an ordinance amending the functions, duties, and rights of the Constitutional Council.

“The prime minister’s move has crossed all limits. It’s too much. His way of not trusting anyone, not trusting those in the party, not trusting even the opposition, not consulting on constitutional issues is very wrong. He should immediately withdraw the ordinance,” leader Nepal remarked.
