KATHMANDU: The number of people visiting the Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital for the coronavirus tests has started declining after the hospital began charging for the test.

The hospital has been charging Rs 2,000 since last Sunday for those who have no symptoms and have not fallen under contact tracing.

The government has announced that only health workers, security personnel, and people with symptoms working on the frontline will be tested for free as the people willing to get tested increased.

The number of people coming for the test has come down after the hospital started charging for PCR test, said Director Sagar Kumar Rajbhandari.
