Speaker Sapkota pays last tribute to lawmaker Pahadi

KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has paid his last respect to lawmaker Sanu Shiva Pahadi at Pashupati Aryaghat on Thursday morning.

Pahadi had passed away on Wednesday in the course of treatment. She died at Kathmandu Medical College in Kathmandu during treatment.

Pahadi had been suffering from kidney and heart problems since a long time.

She had undergone kidney transplant some few months ago after both of her kidneys stopped functioning.

Pahadi was elected to the Lower House of the Federal Parliament from the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) under the proportional representation quota.

She had participated in the student’s movement of 1980 and also involved in the cultural campaign.

Born in Taplejung district, she was also actively involved in the Dalit Movement.
