IPL2020: Delhi defeats Rajasthan to climb atop points table



KATHMANDU: Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane-involved Delhi Capitals has climbed atop the points table by defeating Rajasthan Royals by 13 runs in an Indian Premier League match held in Dubai on Wednesday night.

Rajasthan was restricted to 148 runs with the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs while it was chasing the 162-run target set by Delhi.

BA Stokes scored 41 runs including six fours off 35 balls while RV Uthappa and SV Samson made 32 and 25 runs respectively.

Delhi’s TU Deshpande, TU Deshpande took two wickets each to limit the opponent to paltry 148 runs.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Delhi notched up 161 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs.

S Dhawan played a half-century of 57 runs including six fours and two sixes, captain SS Iyer made 53 runs off 43 balls while MP Stoinis contributed 18 runs.

In reply, Rajasthan’s JC Archer and JD Unadkat took three and two wickets each of Delhi.

With this win, Dehli is in the top position with 12 points from eight games while Rajasthan is in the seventh position with six points from equal eight games.
