TU postpones scheduled exams of all faculties

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan University (TU) has postponed the examinations of all faculties scheduled to be held from August 30.

Talking to Khabarub, Examination Controller Pushpa Raj Joshi said the examinations of all the subjects and faculties have been postponed for an indefinite period due to coronavirus.  “The examinations will be held in the convenient time,” he said.

However, TU has dispatched a circular to the Office of the Dean to resume classes at the higher level under the semester system.

Meanwhile, the departments of colleges have already issued a notice to students regarding the resumption of classes at the higher level.

“The current time is not convenient to conduct examinations,” said Joshi, adding, “We have decided to run classes at the higher level despite the postponement of examinations.”

TU has distributed around 500,000 E-mail IDs to the teachers and students to run alternative classes.

Likewise, TU has entrusted the Office of the Dean with the responsibility to conduct examinations.

Examination Controller Joshi said all the online classes can be run until Dashain festival and added the examinations can be conducted after the festival.

Teaching activities and examinations have been hampered after the government imposed lockdown on March 24 due to coronavirus spread.

The Dean’s office had announced to conduct examinations from August 30 after the government lifted the four-month-long lockdown on July 22.
