COVID-19 death toll reaches 39 in Nepal as 36-yr-old dies in Rautahat



KATHMANDU: The death toll from coronavirus pandemic in Nepal has reached 39 after a 36-year-old man died of the deadly virus in Rautahat on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at Ministry of Health and Population, a man from Parva Municipality-7, Rautahat died today at 2:30 pm at the Narayani Hospital, Birgunj.

He had returned to Nepal from Bangalore, India on July 8. After sensing some difficulties in breathing, he was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Narayani Hospital, Birgunj on July 13.

He tested positive for COVID-19 on July 15 in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at Hetauda Laboratory.
