Civil Mall traders protest demanding rent discount



KATHMANDU: Traders of Civil Mall complex have hit the streets demanding rent off facility of the lockdown period.

According to Dhan Bir Shrestha, the Vice President of Civil Mall Trade Union, traders having stalls at Civil Mall Complex have been protesting for 10 days now demanding for the rent-off of the lockdown period when no business activities took place.

Shrestha lamented that the Mall management has not called for the dialogue till date and expressed his commitment to take the protest ahead unless the issue is address through dialogue.

The businessmen have been demanding waiver of the rent of the lockdown period as they got no chance to run their business during the time.

They have been saying that it’s difficult for them to pay the rent of the time.
