 3 including ex-VDC chair killed in Syangja landslide



KATHMANDU: Three people including former Village Development Committee (VDC) chairman were killed and the other one went missing in a landslide triggered by incessant rains in Kaligandaki rural municipality in Syangja district on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Imansing Rana, Jaman Singh Thapa, 60, Tika Bahadur Thapa, 50, of Kaligandi rural municipality-4.

Locals, Nepali Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force are searching the missing person in the landslide, said District Police Office, Syangja.

Former Village Development Committee Chairman Imansing who sustained critical injuries breathed his last in the course of treatment while the rest died on the spot.

Similarly, 60-year-old Prem Chandra Pandey has gone missing in the landslide.
