NHRC urges stern action against culprits of Kailali gang-rape



KATHMADNU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to take action against those found involved in the heinous act of rape of a quarantined woman in Lamkichuha Municipality-1 of Kailali district.

The NHRC spokesperson Bed Bhattarai issuing a press release today urged the government to take stern action against the culprits and manage relief to the survivor.

Locals were staging demonstrations against the heinous crime that took place inside the quarantine center. The 31-year-old woman alleged that three quarantine volunteers sexually assaulted her on Sunday.

Similarly, the commission has urged to manage quarantine centers following WHO standards.
