Ward office approval mandatory for visiting Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: Are you coming to visit the Kathmandu Valley? Don’t forget to take a permission letter from your ward office if you are coming to Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu made this provision mandatory for those entering the capital city in coordination with the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.

Administrative Officer of District Administrative Office, Kathmandu Man Bahadur Budha said a new provision has been made mandatory before entering the Kathmandu Valley.

“A traveller visiting the Kathmandu Valley has to take an approval from the respective ward office, mentioning the purpose of visit, necessity and reason,” said Budha.

Then the respective administration office will provide a pass if the requested travel is deemed necessary.

This is mandatory for both personal and official visits.

Similarly, with the odd-even rule in place, the pass system has been scrapped in the capital.
