KATHMANDU: Security personnel of the Armed Police Force (APF) outpost established at Chhangru of Byas Rural Municipality in Darchula have started patrolling along the Nepal-India border.
Before starting the patrol, Bhupendra Kumar of the Indian SSB had met Prof. Dr. Indrajit Rai, Security Adviser to the Home Minister and Armed Police Inspector Mili Bahadur Chand.
The border outpost was established on Wednesday.
A total of 25 APF personnel were been deployed under the leadership of Inspector Chand. They were airlifted to Chhangru by a Nepali Army’s MI-17 helicopter.
The APF unit will be mobilized for border security as India unilaterally constructed and inaugurated a link road by encroaching the Nepali territory.
India has constructed a road from Pithoragadh to Lipubhanjyang via Gunji of Kalapani on the Nepal side of the border, connecting Manasarobar of Tibet.
