KATHMANDU: The Nepali Unity Society has urged the government to rescue Nepali migrant workers who are stranded at different parts of India due to ongoing lockdown.
Issuing a press statement today, Society Chairman Durga Bahadur KC appealed to the government to make arrangements to rescue the stranded Nepali workers and ensure their health check-up.
He urged the government for their return, after which they could be kept in isolation for the required days.
Currently, the migrant Nepali workers are facing severe difficulties with the loss of jobs in various countries including India.
Meanwhile, the Society condemned the Indian move of unilateral construction of a link road to Tibet via Nepali territory in Darchula district.
The press statement read that India has no change in its domineering attitude even after being independent of British colony. So, the issue of encroachment should be internationalized for justice, it stressed. RSS
