Medical supplies from China to arrive Kathmandu on Friday

KATHMANDU: A consignment of medical supplies purchased by Nepal Army (NA) from China is arriving on Friday, NA has said.

The government had earlier entrusted the NA to bring in medical supplies for treating the coronavirus from China.

According to Nepal Army spokesperson Bigyan Dev Pandey, the consignment will arrive on coming Friday via the Tatopani land route.

He informed that three containers carrying medical supplies had left China’s Guangzhou on May 4, 6, and 7 respectively.

Likewise, efforts are underway to bring in around 37 tons of medical supplies on an aircraft at the earliest.

The NA has been entrusted to purchase some 342 tons of medical supplies worth Rs 2.25 billion through a G2G agreement.
