Gandaki province govt to provide Rs 510 daily to those in quarantine



POKHARA: Gandaki Province government has decided to provide Rs 510 per day as food allowance to those staying in quarantine.

The Province government’s meeting on Monday took the decision that those staying in quarantine to contain the spread of COVID-19 will get money so that they can spend it on meals. Even the quarantines have been managed by the local and province governments, said Minister Ram Sharan Basnet.

Similarly, all three security agencies of the Province have been provided Rs 1.5 million each for buying necessary medical equipment and safety gear to prevent and control the coronavirus in the Province.

The amount would be released to the Paschim Division of Nepal Army, Gandaki Province office of Nepal Police and Muktinath Brigade of the Armed Police Force.

In addition, Rs 2,220 per day has been fixed as an upper limit of expense per person in case of the health workers, staffs and doctors working in the dedicated hospitals.

Meanwhile, the meeting also decided to bring the Leknath Community Lions Hospital under the ambit of the Province government.
