Death toll in Italy reaches 20, 465 after 566 die in 24 hrs

KATHMANDU: Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 566 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the number of death toll to 20, 465 as of Tuesday morning.

With 3, 153 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 159, 516, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 103, 616 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 3, 260 are critical. Meanwhile, 35, 435 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 119, 568 and infecting 1,922,926 people as of Tuesday morning.
