KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Masamichi Saigo today expressed Japan’s continued support to Nepal in its vision toward ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali”.

He said the high-level visits between the two countries have contributed towards strengthening the bilateral relations between Japan and Nepal.

Ambassador Saigo said this at a reception hosted by him at his official residence in Tahachal on Friday to celebrate the 60th birthday of Japan’s Emperor Naruhito.

Chief guest Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, ministers, ambassadors and heads of international organizations in Nepal, parliamentarians, and high ranking government officials attended the program.

On the occasion, Ambassador Saigo said he was pleased to welcome the guests to celebrate the birthday of the Emperor of Japan.

Recalling the President Bidhya Devi Bhandari’s visit to Japan to attend the ceremonies of the accessions to the throne of the Emperor last October and the visit of Norihiro Nakayama, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Kathmandu this January, Ambassador Saigo pointed out that the high-level exchanges between Japan and Nepal have been progressing and these visits have contributed towards strengthening the bilateral relations between Japan and Nepal.
