Govt decides to open tourism sites

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to open the tourism sites for touristic activities.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation came up with the move to reopen the tourism sites that were closed after the Covid-19 pandemic.

With this, cable car, jungle safari and museums would be reopened for the tourism activities by applying security protocols. The Council of Ministers on November 9 had given a nod to resume such areas.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, the Ministry has said that the touristic sites would reopen but the concerned districts will have the right to take decision by analyzing the level of risk.

As stated, the line agencies of the Ministry would monitor whether the health protocols were implemented.

Likewise, the government had already reopened trekking and mountaineering.
