Chitwan and Pokhara record two additional COVID-19 deaths

KATHMANDU: A person infected with coronavirus has died in Chitwan today.

The deceased is a 90-year-old man from Bharatpur Metropolitan City, ward number 9.

According to the District Police Office Chitwan, the nonagenarian was tested for coronavirus on September 25, and he tested positive on September 28.

He had been staying in isolation at his house and died at 9.30 this morning.

Similarly, a 52-year-old woman of Bhirkot Municipality-2 in Syangja district died at the COVID-19 treatment center at Western Regional Hospital under the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS), said PAHS Director Dr Arjun Acharya.

The woman, who was admitted to the center on October 12, was treated at ICU.

So far, the hospital recorded 13 deaths from the infection, he said. The caseload in Gandaki State has hit 5,127.
