Indian Army Chief Naravane to visit Nepal in November



KATHMANDU: Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane is coming to Nepal on an official Nepal visit in November this year.

According to the Nepal Army, Naravane is visiting Nepal to receive an honorary rank of Chief of Army Staff of Nepal as per the tradition between Nepal and India.

Army chiefs of each country are conferred with the honorary status of army chief by the other country after their appointment.

Indian Army Chief Naravane assumed his position in December 2019.

His visit was approved by the Government of Nepal on February 3, 2020. However, the visit cold not materialize due to the COVID-19 pandemic, among others.

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari will confer the honorary rank of the General of the Nepal Army to Naravane during the latter’s visit.
