Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 675 with 12 new fatalities

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 675 as of Wednesday afternoon with 12 new fatalities in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Nepal has recorded as many as 2,638 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the recent data, the total number of cases reached 1,17,996 in the country as of Wednesday afternoon.

Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor said that altogether 13,947 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Dr. Gautam, 2,174 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 80,954 in the country.

Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 68.6 percent, he added.

Nepal currently has 36,367 active cases, he said.
