Morang and Rupandehi record two additional COVID-19 deaths



KATHMANDU: Two more people have died from coronavirus in Rupandehi and Morang districts.

A 77-year-old woman died from the virus in the course of treatment at Butwal COVID Special Hospital on Wednesday morning, informed Dr Bishnu Gautam, the information officer for the hospital.

Originally from Sunwal-9, Nawalparasi, the septuagenarian had been admitted to Lumbini Provincial Hospital on October 12 and tested positive for the virus on the same day.

The elderly, who was being treated at a fever clinic, was brought to Butwal COVID Special Hospital after her condition deteriorated on Tuesday night, according to Dr Gautam.

She was also suffering from cardiac-related ailments, said the hospital. With this, the number of deaths from coronavirus at this hospital has reached 32.

Likewise, a 60-year-old man died from coronavirus while undergoing treatment at Birat Teaching Hospital in Morang district.

Originally from Budhiganga rural municipality-3, Bansbari, the sexagenarian succumbed to the virus at the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to Sunil Dev, the head of the isolation ward of the hospital, the infected patient breathed his last at 12:20 am today.
