Nepal’s COVID-19 tally reaches 25,551 after 594 diagnosed positive



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Friday stated that 594 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the new cases have taken the national count to 25,551.

A total of 11,575 samples were tested through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method, he shared.

Meanwhile, as many as 17,077 have recovered across the country so far after 240 discharged from hospitals and isolation centers in the last 24 hours, he shared. The recovery rate now stands at 66.8 percent.

At present, 7,913 people are in isolation and 14,638 are in various quarantine facilities.

Nepal has reported four new deaths. With this, the death toll has reached 99, he said.
