Parsa, Bara report 50 fresh coronavirus cases



BIRGUNJ: Parsa and Bara districts have confirmed 50 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

The cases were confirmed in the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests carried out at Narayani Hospital on Thursday night.

According to Medical Superintendent Dr. Madan Kumar Upadhyaya at Narayani Hospital, out of the total 50 infected people, 21 are from Bara.

A total of 20 people who came in contact with a doctor of Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan have tested positive. A person from Vishwambharpur of Bara has also contracted the pandemic virus.

Similarly, one person from Mahottari, an employee of the Consulate General of India in Birgunj and one employee of Global IME Bank in Birgunj has also been infected.

Others infected are residents of Sirsia, Ghadiarwa, Sreepur, Bahuari, Radhemai, Panitanki, Loharpatti and Bhishwa areas of Birgunj Metropolis.

Similarly, the infection has also been confirmed in one doctor, one pharmacy staff, one nursing home staff and three security guards of Narayani Hospital, three sweepers and one staff of the medical ward.

Likewise, one physiotherapist of the hospital and another staff member of the emergency room have also been found infected.
