Bharatpur Hospital sealed after 16 including medics infected

CHITWAN: Sixteen people including 12 from Chitwan have tested positive for coronavirus.

The new cases were confirmed during PCR tests at the laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital on Thursday evening, according to the hospital.

Of them, nine cases aged 20 to 35 (including one woman) are from wards 2, 4, 7 and 10 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Similarly, a 37-year-old woman from Rapti municipality-9, 63-year-old woman from Ratnanagar municipality-13 and 23-year-old man from Khairahani municipality-8 have been infected, informed Dr Nitu Adhikari, chief of the laboratory.

Likewise, those infected are 28-year-old man from Nawalpur, 45-year-old male from Sarlahi, 22-year-old woman from Makwanpur and 22-year-old woman from Tanahun.

Meanwhile, the hospital has been sealed after medical persons working at the emergency ward of the hospital were infected with the virus.

Issuing a notice on Thursday, the hospital administration said the hospital has been sealed since 8 pm on Thursday until a further notice.
