Two missing after control gate of Melamchi dam bursts



SINDHUPALCHOWK: Two persons have gone missing after a control gate of Melamchi Drinking Water Project’s dam burst on Tuesday afternoon.

Driver Radhakrishna Thapa Magar and engineer Satish Gohit have gone missing after water gushed out of the tunnel.

The water from the tunnel also washed away a jeep, Ba 1 Jha 8764.

Chief of the District Police Office, SP Prajwal Maharjan, said that two of the four persons out for inspection and the vehicle were swept away during the inspection of Gate no 17.

The tunnel is being tested for faults for the past one week.
