Two Rural Municipalities in Nawalpur get stuffs for quarantine management



NAWALPUR: Two hilly rural municipalities: Baudikali and Bulingtar in Nawalpur have received assistance materials worth over Rs 200 thousand for the management of quarantine centers. The Nawalparasi Society Japan and Nawalpur Society Japan shared the financial burden to provide such materials to the local governments.

Gandaki State Assembly (SA) member Bishnu Prasad Lamichhane on Saturday handed the assistance to local representatives. The assistance includes 400 mosquito nets, 400 sheets of bed cover, 160 sets of blanket, and four rolls of mat.

Similarly, Kathmandu-based Karuna Foundation and an organization called Creation Possibility have assisted 24 sets of personal protection equipment, 16 thermal guns, 400 N-95 masks and 10 liters of hand sanitizer to the rural municipalities.

SA member handed the assistance to Bulingtar’s Chair Shashi Kiran Bastakoti and Bauidikali’ Chair Maya Devi Shrestha on the occasion.

Lack of resources, inadequate transportation facilities, limited access to nearby health facility of health checkup and accessible market to purchase required health materials and late results of testing are among the challenges these rural municipalities are currently facing in the prevention and containment of the virus, according to local representatives.
