Biplav praises govt for endorsement of Nepal’s updated map

KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the outlawed Nepal Communist Party Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has praised the government after the House of Representatives endorsed the updated political map of Nepal including land encroached by India.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Biplav said that the government has taken a step forward in the interest of the country by passing a map of Nepal covering the encroached territory though the Parliament.

Biplav said, “India has occupied Limpiyadhura, Lipu Lekh and Kalapani in Nepal for 58 years. Nepali patriotic people, experts, intellectuals and revolutionary forces have been constantly fighting against it. Due to the pressure of the public and struggle, the KP Oli government has been forced to pass the map covering the areas. The decision is as a step ahead in the interest of the country.”

Biplav has made it clear that his party is of the view that it is necessary to take these lands under the direct ownership of Nepal by taking diplomatic and political initiatives as soon as possible.
