China’s PLA hands over worth 5 million Yuan medical supplies to Nepal Army

KATHMANDU: China’s People’s Liberation Army handed over medical supplies worth five million Yuan on Wednesday.

An aircraft belonging to China Air Force carrying medical supplies and equipment from China landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Wednesday morning.

The plane of the military aviation branch of the Republic of China Armed Forces arrived at the TIA carrying essential medical equipment and supplies.

The aircraft brought medical materials, including the testing kits for COVID-19. The Health materials were donated by the Chinese Liberal Army to the Nepal government. It is said that the aircraft will return to China today itself.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi handed over the medical supplies to Chief of Army Staff General Purna Chandra Thapa amid a program organized at the Army Headquarters. CoAS Thapa thanked the Chinese government for the support.

The goods and supplies provided to NA include PPE, N95 masks, chemicals used for the test of coronavirus, hospital beds, goggles, among others. NA spokesperson Brigadier General Bigyan Dev Pandey informed that China has provided Nepal Army health materials worth 5 million Yuan.

People’s Liberation Army of China has provided such materials to the armies of 12 countries in these last two days.

According to the Global Times, CHina provided such stuff to 12 countries, including Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan in these two days.

According to the officials, China’s support to Nepal is the biggest ever so far in terms of such materials provided today.

In the meantime, 4 trucks carrying health materials that the NA is procuring on behalf of the government have arrived at Tatopani customs on Tuesday.

According to NA Spokesperson, the materials will arrive to Kathmandu soon as the customs clearance procedure has already started.

“Four trucks carrying the health materials through land route have already arrived at Tatopani customs,” spokesperson Pandey said, “As the clearance has already started they will arrive to Kathmandu soon.”
