India tackles Pak for hyping distorted Kashmir narrative

GENEVA: India succeeded in cornering Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva recently for referring to several UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions to target India.

India came down heavily on Pakistan saying that it cannot deny the fact that Pakistan is home to around 130 UN-designated terrorists and 25 terrorist units listed by the United Nations.

“Can Pakistan deny that the country is home to 130 UN-designated terrorists and 25 terrorist units listed by the United Nations?” asked Rachita Bhandari, Director (Indo-Pacific), in the Ministry of External Affairs.

She also questioned the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan: “Can Pakistan deny the fact that the country’s leaders, including its Prime Minister, have called for Jihad against India?

Bhandari went on to ask, “Can Pakistan deny the fact that it unleashed a State-sponsored Genocide against its people in 1971?”

She also raised concerns asking whether Pakistan can deny the fact that vulnerable minorities in Pakistan face religious persecutions.

It should be recalled that the Government of India in 2019 scrapped Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Ever since Pakistan has been shooting up the Kashmir issue on several international platforms.

India, however, has been describing it as its internal matter.
