Durga Prasai released on general date



KATHMANDU: Durga Prasad Prasai, the operator of B&C Hospital in Birtamod of Jhapa district facing misdemeanor charges has been released on a general date.

District Administration Office, Bhaktapur on Thursday ordered his release. Prasai appeared before the administration office today.

Vice-chairman of the Medical Education Commission Sri Krishna Giri had lodged a case of defamation and misdemeanor against Prasai after the latter accused him of demanding Rs 200 million in bribe to start the affiliation process for his medical college.

Giri had approached the administration alleging Prasai of ‘defaming’ him and ‘making false allegations’.

The Bhaktapur District Administration had ordered the District Police Office, Bhaktapur to arrest Prasai. He was on the large since then.
