KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has dispatched a health care team to Gumba village of Jugal rural municipality-4 in Sindhupalchok district in the wake of scores of local people complaining of common cold and fever, said the Ministry.
The five-member health team including a medical officer and a lab technician from the state public health laboratory is attending to the patients in the village, said the Ministry’s Spokesperson Mahendra Prasad Shrestha.
Similarly on Wednesday morning, a health care team from Jalbire Primary Health Center along with essential medicines has been sent to the affected area in coordination with the District Health Office, Sindhupalchok, it has been said. The health care team includes a medical officer and a nurse.
Similarly, a four-member team including two medical officers from Chautara Hospital is providing care to the patients. Approximately 170 people with common cold have received treatment on Wednesday morning, said Shrestha.
To contain common cold and fever, regular coordination and talks were underway with the Health Emergency Operation Center, the Department of Health Services, the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, the Ministry of Social Development of State 3, the State Health Directorate and Jugal rural municipality health section, he said.
