NC holding nationwide protest against govt tomorrow

Masks and physical distance mandatory

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepal Congress (NC) is organizing nationwide demonstrations against the government on Monday.

On the eve of the nationwide protest, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has appealed to participate in the demonstration while maintaining a physical distance.

Deuba also urged to make the demonstration grand, orderly and peaceful.

“Make the use of masks and physical distances mandatory during demonstrations being staged during the coronavirus pandemic,” Deuba has instructed the cadres.

Deuba said that the government has been focusing on corruption and authoritarian aspirations taking advantage of the responsible role of the main opposition.

“The government’s working style has spread disillusionment among the people,” Deuba said, “Therefore, NC has to move forward in a strong manner to address the people’s disappointment by putting intense pressure on the government from the streets to the parliament.”
