Kathmandu DAO suspends non-essential services



KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has suspended all services except essentials until further notice.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the office stated that all non-essential services have been suspended owing to the growing risk of the coronavirus.

The office has informed that only peace and security-related services, complaint related services, case hearing services, and disaster management related services will come into operation.

The suspended services include citizenship distribution, arms registration and renewal, and organization, and newspaper registration and renewal among others.

As many as 2,129 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,746 persons in Kathmandu, 167 in Bhaktapur, and 216 in Lalitpur have been tested positive for the coronavirus.
