COVID-19: 414 new cases recorded in Makwanpur, Chitwan and Sunsari

KATHMANDU: As many as 414 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Makwanpur, Chitwan and Sunsari districts.

Chitwan district has reported 92 additional coronavirus infection cases. The new cases were confirmed during tests at COVID-19 laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital and Chitwan Medical College (CMC).

CMC reported 58 cases while the Bharatpur Hospital confirmed 34 fresh cases. Of them, 72 infected are from Bharatpur Sub Metropolitan City.

Similarly, five  each from Nawalpur and  Makwanpur, and one each from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Nuwakot, Kavre, Gorkha, Lamjung, Udaypur, Jhapa Sarlahi and Nawalparasi districts.

As many as 125 additional people have been infected with the coronavirus in Makwanpur district.

Out of 296 swab samples tested at the laboratory of Provincial Public Health Laboratory, the reports of 125 people came out positive for coronavirus. Of them, 77 people are males while 48 are females.

Among those infected, 107 are from Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City, 14 are from Bagmati rural municipality, one from Makwanpurgadhi rural municipality and three are from other districts, said the District Health Office, Makwanpur.

Similarly, a total of 197 additional people have been infected with COVID-19  in Dharan.

According to a press note issued by BP Koirala Institure of Health Sciences, among those infected with the virus, 104 are from ANFA Academy quarantine based at Dharan-17 alone.

The new cases were confirmed during PCR tests at the laboratory of the hospital.  Of them, three people re-tested positive for the virus.

With this, the number of coronavirus infection cases in Dharana has reached 1,379.
