Journalists, people’s representatives infected in Mahottari



KATHMANDU: The cases of COVID-19 among journalists and people’s representatives were surging in Mahottari district of late, possibly due to their exposure to people with known or suspected COVID-19 or possible COVID-19.

Bhangaha Municipality Mayor Sanjeev Kumar Shah confirmed of contracting the Coronavirus infection on Monday night. He is currently availing treatment at home-isolation.

Similarly, Bhangaha-4 ward chair Ashok Kumar Mahato had tested positive for the flu-like infected some time ago. He has recovered fully from COVID-19.

Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS)’s journalist in the district Gopal Prasad Baral and Sunita Baral associated with the Kantipur Daily had tested positive for the deadly infection recently.

Both of them were being treated at home-isolation.

Earlier, Raj Karan Mahato of Annapurna Post and Lalan Kumar Mandal of News24 had been infected with COVID-19. They have recovered and returned to their duties as well.

All the infected journalists and people’s representatives had taken to social networking sites to inform about their infection. RSS
