Coronavirus cases among Nepal Police personnel near 3,000-mark

KATHMANDU: Coronavirus cases among Nepal Police personnel have been sharply increasing across the country, with 939 active cases in Kathmandu Valley alone.

A total of 2,953 personnel of Nepal Police, including four Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) have been diagnosed coronavirus positive so far.

Among them, 1,692 are currently receiving treatment at hospitals and isolation centers while 1,261 have been discharged.

A total of 157 working at the police headquarters and 782 in the Kathmandu Valley are currently under isolation.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson SSP Kuber Kadayat, 165 in Province 1, 102 in Province 2, 162 in Bagmati, 91 in Gandaki, 132 in Province 5, 48 in Karnali and 53 in Sudurpaschim Province are currently receiving treatment.
